Carl Perkins ProjectA group of 26 public schools in West Central Minnesota have formed a consortium to access funding and programming available through the federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006. These schools partner with the four-campus system of Minnesota State Community and Technical College (MState), and comprise what is known as the Lakes Country/MState Perkins Consortium in the State of Minnesota.The Lakes Country/MState Perkins plan includes the following goals and objectives for secondary and post-secondary career and technical programs within the consortium member educational institutions:

Designing Programs of Study

Effectively Utilize Employer, Community and Education Partnerships

Improve Services to Special Populations

Provide a Continuum of Service Provision for Enabling Student Transitions; and

Sustain the New Consortium Structure of Secondary and Postsecondary Institutions
