Child Reading a Book

The COMPASS Literacy team is committed to enhancing literacy education across Minnesota by supporting equitable access to rigorous, high-quality Tier 1 literacy instruction. We strive to create opportunities for all students to succeed in reading and writing, regardless of background or circumstance.

We partner with schools and districts to deliver culturally responsive, evidence-based literacy instruction grounded in the science of reading. Our approach ensures that every student engages with rigorous grade-level content, builds strong foundational skills, and develops confidence as a reader and writer.

Our team customizes support to meet your unique needs, offering a variety of services, including professional learning, coaching, networking opportunities, and the implementation of evidence-based literacy practices. We aim to enhance literacy knowledge and instructional practices, providing equitable literacy learning opportunities for all students.

COMPASS support is available at no cost to districts seeking to strengthen their local literacy efforts. We believe in fostering inclusive learning environments where every student can thrive as a capable reader and writer.
